During my time at KU, I’ve looked for opportunities that allow me to take what I learn in the classroom and apply it to real experiences. One of my favorite experiences has been working as a Lead Campus Ambassador for Uber One. In this role, I’ve had the opportunity to promote a recognizable brand directly to students, participate in campus events, answer questions, and find creative ways to increase awareness and engagement. This experience has helped me become more comfortable communicating with different audiences and has given me a better understanding of what it takes to represent a brand in an authentic way.

I’ve also had the opportunity to explore marketing through my involvement with KU’s Marketing Research Lab. Experiences like this have helped me understand that successful marketing is not just about having a creative idea. It’s also about understanding people, analyzing information, asking the right questions, and using research to make better decisions. These experiences have helped me build a stronger foundation in areas like consumer behavior, branding, communication, and marketing strategy.

Studying abroad has been another important part of my college experience. Through KU’s Marketing and Sales in Europe program, I had the opportunity to travel through Dublin, Belfast, London, Bath, Paris, and Nice while learning about business and marketing in an international setting. Being able to see how businesses operate and market themselves in different countries gave me a new perspective on the role that culture plays in consumer behavior. It also strengthened my interest in international business and the possibility of building a career that allows me to work with different people, cultures, and markets.

Looking toward the future, I’m interested in pursuing a career in marketing, particularly within industries like travel, beauty and cosmetics, food and beverage, and lifestyle. I’m drawn to industries where creativity, storytelling, and understanding the customer are a major part of success. I hope to continue gaining hands on experience through internships and professional opportunities while building a strong network and learning from people already working in the industry.

More than anything, I’m excited to keep learning, trying new things, and figuring out where my creativity can take me. I’m still early in my career, but every experience I’ve had so far has helped me become more confident in my journey in the industry. This portfolio is a collection of the experiences, projects, and skills that have helped shape me so far and I’m excited to see where they take me next.

Hi! I’m Victoria, a marketing student at the University of Kansas with a passion for creativity, storytelling, and connecting with people. I’m originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, and I’m currently pursuing my degree in Business Marketing with an International Business minor. Throughout college, I’ve become especially interested in the way brands connect with consumers and how creative marketing can turn an everyday product or experience into something people genuinely remember.

I’ve always been drawn to creative environments where I can work with people, come up with new ideas, and bring those ideas to life. That’s one of the reasons I chose to study marketing. I love that marketing combines both the creative and business sides of a company. Whether it’s creating content, promoting an event, developing a brand, or thinking about what makes a consumer choose one product over another, I enjoy finding ways to make ideas more engaging and meaningful.
